Mim Winsor Studio

Art created in collaboration with nature

I’m a Farnham based artist, working primarily with cyanotypes. The majority of my work features natural elements such as plants and seaweeds.

During my Masters degree in photography I researched how our society perceives and connects to plants and I explored the forgotten value and beauty of so-called weeds. This helped me to learn a tremendous amount about the plants around me, which in turn enabled me to develop a more mindful and conscious relationship with nature and the seasons; something thats nourished me daily ever since.

After graduating, i knew i wanted to continue making work with and about plants. The process I use relies on UV light to expose the print, I really enjoy the connection between the plants, the sunlight that helped them grow and the same sunlight then exposing the cyanotypes.

I create new work all the time, and no two pieces are ever the same. This gallery shows some of the work I’ve made over the years. Some may still be available for purchase at the galleries and stockists I work with.
